The advocate of a City resident who had objected to the parking lot
around Karnataka High Court in Cubbon Park premises has complained
about non-issuance of a copy of High Court order permitting the Rs
33-crore project even after two months.
M G Kumar, advocate for Bimal N Desai, a petitioner in the PIL in which
a prohibition on new constructions in Cubbon Park premises without HC
permission was operative, said he had filed objections to government’s
application seeking permission for the project.
“The orders in the matter was reserved and a decision was pronounced on
April 19 by a division Bench headed by Chief Justice Cyriac Joseph. I
applied for a copy of the order on April 24, but till date, HC’s office
has not provided me a copy,’’ he said.
He said he had addressed letters to HC Registrar Judicial and HC Registrar General on May 4 and June 11 pointing out the delay.
Appeal
“We have decided to file an appeal against permitting order
before the Supreme Court. But, due to delay in getting the order
copy, I am not able to do so.”
